The Montreal Public Markets are a collection of markets offering fresh, local produce from family-run businesses, creating a vibrant link between urban and rural communities. For this project, we were tasked with creating a product for Marché Public that reflects its values of community, sustainability, and local support.

about
Aroma Gin invites you on a fragrant journey, with notes of juniper, citrus zest, and delicate florals. Designed to enrich the cocktail-making experience, the goal was to create packaging that appeals not only to taste but also to touch, elevating the brand through both flavor and feel.

creative thinking
Unlike traditional gin packaging, which often leans on classic, heritage-driven aesthetics, this design takes a bold, abstract approach to evoke a sense of individuality and modern edge—appealing to a younger, trend-conscious audience.

design decisions
To enhance this connection, embossment was added to the packaging, inviting consumers to engage with it through both sight and touch. By combining striking visuals, thoughtful color choices, and a sophisticated type treatment, the packaging encourages consumers to engage with the product beyond just taste, deepening their overall connection with it.

key takeaways
Through this project, I learned how thoughtful design choices can shape how a brand is felt—not just seen or tasted. Inspired by the spirit of Montreal’s public markets, this packaging project for Aroma Gin combines abstract visuals, bold colors, and tactile details to create a fresh, contemporary experience.
